We Are One

Imagine if you will, an M&M Chocolate Factory. As you walk into the
factory, the first thing you see is a giant-sized M&M machine. You can’t
help but see it, because it’s sitting in the middle of the room taking
up 80% of the space.

Inside of this machine you see a great big ball of chocolate. This
chocolate sits in the center of the machine and therefore it catches
your attention. It’s huge.

As you look closer, you realize that the great big ball of chocolate is
rotating and as it rotates, it is dropping off millions and millions of
tiny chocolate ovals. But the amazing thing you notice is that although
millions of pieces of chocolate are falling off at an incredible rate,
the great big ball of chocolate in the center of the machine never loses
its brilliance. You move closer to find out how it manages to remain the
same size and notice that it is constantly being replenished by buckets
of chocolate that are pouring on the great big ball of chocolate as it
rotates and drops off chocolate ovals.

As the tiny chocolate ovals are rolling off of the great big ball of
chocolate, they are running down a path that takes them to separate
areas of the machine. In these areas, the chocolate ovals are being
coated into different colors—some are red, some are green, some are
yellow, some are blue and some are brown.

After they are color coded, they then come together to form a rainbow of
colors. The machine then shifts them to another part of the machine
where they are placed into bags and packaged for shipment, where each
package will then go to a store or somewhere on this planet, so it could
live out its purpose—to be bought and eaten.

Now, why did I just tell you this story about M&Ms? Well, if you guessed
that I was just being greedy and thinking of food—you were probably half
right. But that is not why I told you this story.

I use this story when I speak to my youth organizations. I use it as an
analogy to show how we are all connected to each other--all derived from
The Source—from God.

See, the great big ball of chocolate in this analogy is God. God sits in
the center, the focal point--the point in which we all originate. He is
the Creator. He takes a part of Him (the Holy Spirit) and sends it down
a path, your mother’s womb, where it is coated by whatever color your
parents happen to be and then you are birthed—a spirit, incased by an
outer coating.

The best and most dominate part of the M&M candy is the chocolate
filling.

The most dominant part of us is our Spirit—or the Holy Spirit that lives
inside of us. Although we have broken off from the directness of God, we
still carry some of Him inside of us all the time.

And regardless of what color-coded covering covers us, whether it’s
brown, red, yellow, white, green or blue—on the inside, we are all made
up of the same substance. The most important part of us is the part that
comes directly from God—our spirit. Whatever color we happen to have
turned out, or wherever region of the world we end up at—just like the
M&Ms who are shipped throughout the world, has no bearing on our
connectedness. What matters is the spirit, the part of God that is
inside of us—all the time.

Through our spirit, WE ARE ONE. We are all connected to the Devine
Source, to All That Is, to God. And because of this connection, our
purpose in life will be to serve others, for when we serve others, we
serve God and ourselves.

I want you to test this to see that it is not a theory but a fact.

Have you ever had a thought or wanted to find something out, and maybe a
few hours or so later, someone came to you with the answer? Or perhaps
the answer popped up in your email? Or you had a thought and a total
stranger came to you with the answer?

It happens to me all the time. I could say to myself, I wonder how I
should go about doing such-and-such—and sometimes within a few minutes
even, the answer will come to me—either via an email, or a phone call or
a book or even a television show.

Just this weekend, I was wanting to find out how I could add audio to my
website but I didn’t have a clue how to do it. Without even thinking
about it, I checked my emails and had received an ecourse that I signed
up for. The ecourse had audio as a part of it. As I clicked on the part
to hear the audio, I accidentally clicked on a link that didn’t take me
to the audio part, but to a site that teaches you how to add audio to
your website—for free.

As another example of how this has worked in my life, I was also
interested in finding out how to record my teleseminars so that I could
make them available on my web site for those who were unable to attend.

I correspond on the regular, with another motivational speaker and
happened to mention to her that I wanted to find out how to record my
seminars and she wrote back and said that is exactly what her husband
does for a living. He will be able to help me.

Do you see the divine intervention? I send the message out to God, and
the God responses—not by a big voice that shakes my home like the voice
that Hollywood has us used to by it’s Biblical productions—but by
bringing the people, to whom I am already connected to, into my life to
assist me in whatever I need or desire.

I’m not unique it this. It works for each and every one of us. We are
all connected. Your purpose, once you find it, will be to serve
humankind in some form or the other. Because WE ARE ALL ONE and we are
all here to serve God—and we all have a piece of Him that resides right
inside of us.

ACTION POINT: As you go about your daily life, take time to remember
that we are all connected. So, if you are driving in your car, and
someone cuts you off, don’t get angry and give them the finger—remember
that person is a part of you. Also, remember that there is a reason they
cut you off. By them cutting you off, they may have slowed you down by
two seconds because if they hadn’t slowed you down, you might have not
made it where you are going. So, instead of calling them names from the
inside of your car—thank God for the slight delay.

If your boss or co-worker gets on your nerves, remember that they come
from God and therefore are linked to you. Instead of getting angry,
think of the good parts that they posses and smile to yourself. Perhaps
this person is here to teach you patience or anger control.

WE ARE ONE—Love yourself and ALL of God’s many, many other children.
