Proverbs 3:5-6

Today I want to talk about one of my favorite Bible verse.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own
understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your
paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

I have lots of favorite verses from the Bible and this happens to be one
of them.

I believe this is such a powerful statement because if we simply DO what
it says to do, than our lives will be so powerful, so purposeful, so
prosperous and so abundant.

The first part of the first verse states, “Trust in the Lord with all
your heart.”

Do you really trust in the Lord with all your heart?

Most people do trust in the Lord, but the part I’m questioning is do you
trust in the Lord WITH ALL YOUR HEART?

The reason I’m asking is because so many of us say that we believe in
the Lord with all of our heart, but our actions show otherwise. If you
believe in the Lord with all your heart, you will know and believe that
he will provide for you in whatever you wish to accomplish..

If you know He put you here to fulfill a purpose, yet, you aren’t living
your life with purpose because by doing so would mean you will have to
venture into unfamiliar territory and the thought of that frightens you
Why? Because 1) I don’t have the money to do this. 2) Staying on the job
that I already has, however unsuitable it may be towards my purpose,
does guarantee me a paycheck (security); or 3) If I try to do the things
that I desire and dream of doing, others may think I’ve lost my mind. I
do have responsibilities you know. If I were younger, say 18 just
getting out of high school, then I would pursue my dreams, but now, it’s
too hard.

If you believe any of these things or any other excuse you might tell
yourself that stops you from living the life God intended for you to
live, than you are not trusting in God with all of your heart.

You have to trust and believe what He tells us. He will take care of you
if only you believe and trust.

This is where the second part of that verse comes in, “and do not lean
on your own understanding.” This means--get out of the way. It’s not for
you to figure out how or when something is going to happen, that’s God’s
job. Your job is to simply BELIEVE and trust in the Lord with all of
your heart.

You have to become like a child. For example, my children always hold my
hand when we cross the street. They don’t look to the left or to the
right to check and see if any cars are coming, they simply grab my hand
and I lead them. They trust, with all of their heart that I’m not going
to walk them into the street and have them injured in anyway. They never
even bother to look. They simply TRUST that I will protect them. Any
mother would do that. What mother do you know, would deliberately walk
their child in the mist of traffic and risk injuring them?--None that I
can think of.

That is how you must become with God. You must believe that no matter
what, He will provide all of your needs. You are a child of God. Don’t
you think He will protect and provide for you so long as you trust Him?

When you decide to live your life with purpose, don’t think about where
is the money going to come from. That is not your job. If you believe
and trust in God, the money WILL come. Just do all that you can do, each
day, to move yourself closer to achieving your purpose.

The second sentence is just as important as the first. In all of your
ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight.

See, God likes to get BIGGED UP sometimes. (For those of you who don’t
know what BIG UP means, that’s street slang for PRAISE.).

You do too, don’t you? Ever work on a project at work and someone else
try to steal your glory? Change the name on the proposal, tell the boss
they did all the work by themselves, knowing full well that you did 90%
of the work? How did that make you feel?

Well, God is the same way. He is going to do all the work for you, you
simply have to trust and believe. But when all of your dreams start to
manifest, you MUST remember where it came from. It does not come from
you. You can’t do anything without God’s help.

So ALWAYS remember “To God Goes All the Glory!”

And He will make your path straight.
