Prosperity = Submit to God

Prosperity--\Pros*per"i*ty\, n. [F. prosp['e]rit['e], L. prosperitas. See Prosperous.] The state of being prosperous;advance or gain in anything good or desirable; successful progress in any business or enterprise; attainment of the object desired; good fortune; success; as, commercial prosperity; national prosperity.

Job 22:21 "Submit to God and be at peace with him;
in this way prosperity will come to you.”

Growing up, I learned that in order to be a success you
had to work hard and for many, many hours—that was the
key to being prosperous and successful.

But now I know better.

Being prosperous does not have to equate to a lot of
hard work. And boy, was that a load off of my shoulders
since hard work seemed pretty hard to do. The visual
picture I had in my mind was of someone who worked 24
hours a day, sacrificing everything to pursue the dollar.
I had read about, seen and knew personally, people who
worked all the time and made a very nice living. But
their children were being sacrificed by being left home
alone to raise themselves, basically. And their marriages
were sacrificed. And their personal lives were sacrificed.
Now, I’m not saying that all situations are like this, but
there are far too many that are exactly like this.

However, I learned something that I felt was priceless
and I want to share it with you. The closer I drew to God,
the more I realized that I could be prosperous in anything and
everything that I want to do, so long as I submit to God and be at peace
with Him.

All I had to do was to stop doing the things that I have learned from my
environment, my household, the media, my teachers—all of those who
taught me that I had to do this and do that in order to be successful.

I’ve discovered that they were completely wrong.

You can be prosperous in whatever you set out to do so long as you
develop a personal relationship with God and SUBMIT to him and allow him
to lead your life.

Now, how exactly do you do this?

Well, it’s quite simple, and a lot more fulfilling and enjoyable than
working 24 hours a day.

The first thing you must do is to discover exactly WHY you were born.
Why are you here? What are you meant to accomplish?

You DO have a reason to being here and you should make it your business
to find out exactly what that “thing” may be.

You do that by drawing closer to God.

Most people only pray to God when they need something.

Others invite God into their life on Sunday when they attend church, but
during the week, He is nowhere to be found.

The key to discovering your life’s purpose and living a prosperous life
is to develop a personal, every day, all the time, relationship with
God.

By developing a relationship with God and by talking with Him and
listening to Him, finding your purpose will be easy.

By learning to pray and listening to that inner voice every single time
you hear it and following that voice, God will lead you to a life of
prosperity.

I must stress the importance of the “every single time that you hear it”
part.

Ever had a thought to do something, but you didn’t listen to that
thought, and by NOT listening, things didn’t work out that well for you?

I know this has happened to you before. It doesn’t have to be anything
really big. It could be something really small.

For instance, one day I was driving somewhere and had the thought to go
a different route than I was used to going. But I quickly ignored that
thought and went my usual route. Well, I ended up sitting in traffic for
over 2 hours.

But, there was another time when I DID listen to that thought, and went
with my inner voice, and later discovered that I had avoided a large
traffic pile up.

See, how that works?

That small, inner voice is NEVER wrong.

It is always there.

We could either choose to listen to it or choose to ignore it.

If you choose to ignore it, you choose wrong, for that small inner voice
is God’s way of communicating with us.

If you LISTEN and SUBMIT to that voice, prosperity WILL be yours.

Try it for yourself. I’m not telling you to commit to it. Just simply
try it—for a week.

Whenever a thought comes to you, be AWARE of it. Don’t dismiss it. Do
exactly as that thought directs you to do.

I’d love to hear the results of this exercise. As a matter of fact, if
you choose to do this exercise, write me and let me know any significant
things that may have happened to you because you followed that voice—or
in other words, submitted to God.
