According to Your Faith
Matthew 9:29 According to your faith will it be done to
you";
Danita had to make cold calls. She hated making cold calls.
Just the thought of it made her upset. She didn’t know why
but she became really nervous whenever she sat in front of
the phone ready to talk to her list of prospects. “I know
they are NOT going to be interested in my product.” “I know
they won’t even allow me the opportunity to explain why I’m calling.”
“I’m sure I won’t even get past the gatekeeper to
do my pitch.”
She was right. After the twelfth call and the twelfth rejection,
she gave up.
Joann knew her boyfriend was cheating on her. She didn’t have
any proof but she believed it with all her heart. If she could
only find some proof that he was cheating. She has taken to
following him when he goes out at night. She has been following
him now for 3 weeks. She hasn’t caught him with any women but
she knows he’s got to be cheating. If only she could find the
proof.
After five weeks of following him, being suspicious, accusing
him and believing that he is cheating, she finally caught him
in the act. She followed him one day to a fancy restaurant where
he met a woman she didn’t know. They seem to be a lot more than business
partners, she thought.
Steve cannot believe it. He just walked out of his supervisor’s office.
He was called in for a “surprise” review. Steve believes
they have signaled him out because they are going to fire him.
Why else would they give him a “surprise” review? His review
wasn’t a glorious review at that. It seems to Steve they are
trying to gather enough evidence to fire him. He can’t think
of anything else. What would he do if he got fired? How will
he pay his bills? With this hanging heavy on his mind, he
couldn’t work productively. Every time he sees his supervisor
close his door, he simply KNOWS they are in there talking about
him. Seems like everything he does lately doesn’t work out.
His reports aren’t complete. His car broke down today and so
he was 2 hours late for work. Yesterday he had a major headache
and had to leave early. Oh, he KNOWS he’s about to get fired.
A week later, Steve is fired.
Tracey hates making cold calls. For some reason, her palms get
sweaty and she gets a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach.
But Tracey has a plan. She has a “secret” weapon that she uses
that always works for her. She believes that if she says a
prayer before making her calls and visualizes the person on
the receiving end of the phone call needing her products,
looking for the exact thing that she is selling, then the
person will be receptive of her call AND purchase her product.
Before she makes her calls, she visualizes herself being calm,
cool, fun and enthusiastic. Before she picks up the phone,
she tells herself that 9 out of 10 people will WANT her
products. And you know what? 9 out of 10 people always do.
Lisa had a feeling her husband was cheating. But instead
of following him and accusing him of cheating, she said
a prayer. She prayed that her relationship grew stronger.
She stated affirmations about her relationship. She would
spend time visualizing her relationship being a happy one.
She would visualize the two of them taking trips together,
reading books together, and attending church together.
Although her husband liked to go out with his friends,
she started visualizing him spending more time at home
with her and the kids. She picked a certain chair in their
living room, which was his favorite chair whenever he was
home, and she would visualize him sitting there reading
the paper. Shortly thereafter, her husband started spending
more time with her and the kids. Eventually, he stopped
hanging out with his friends all together. They took trips
to exotic places together. Lisa always believed that this
was the way her marriage was supposed to be.
They are laying people off left and right at Mike’s job.
He’s not too concerned. Although his department is next in
line for reviews, he isn’t worried. Oh, he does need his job,
but he believes that whatever happens will be the best thing
for him. Mike believes that God will provide and that
everything happens for a reason. He knows how to follow
God’s guidance and makes God an active part of his every
day life. Lately he’s taken to saying a prayer every day
before going to work. He prays that God opens a door for
him either at this job or one better. If that be God's will. Yesterday,
Mike heard through the grapevine that his entire department was going to
be eliminated. He wasn’t too
concerned. Two hours after hearing the rumor, he received
a phone call from a headhunter. She had a position that
she thought he might be interested in. After describing
the job, Mike knew that this was the job for him. He faxed
over his resume and five days later was offered the job,
which made $5,000 more than what he was presently making
and 20 minutes closer to his home. AND the job was something
that he was wanting to do for a long time. Oh, by the way -
they did eliminate Mike’s entire department.
Why did I tell you these stories? Just to show you that
Jesus meant what he said. According to your faith, will
it be unto you. Everything happens in your life as you
believe it to be. Whatever you BELIEVE you can do, be or
have is what you can do, be or have. If you believe something,
it will be true to you. By faith you will have it. This
happens with EVERYTHING you believe. If you believe you
are not good at sales, you will not be good at sales.
If you believe that your mate is cheating, eventually s/he
will cheat on you. If you believe that you are not good
enough—you are not good enough. If you believe that you
are the best, you will be the best. If you believe you
will never find your purpose—you won’t find your purpose.
If you believe you can’t afford this or that—you won’t be
able to afford it. If you believe you will NEVER be able
to afford this or that—you will NEVER be able to afford it.
If your bank account, at this moment is very low, but you
believe with all your heart that you will become rich and
prosperous, you will become rich and prosperous.
According to your faith, will it be unto you.
So, stop believing that you CAN”T. Stop believing that you
WON’T. Stop believing in anything negative. Start believing
that you CAN and that you WILL. Start focusing and believing
in only positive things because if you believe, it will happen.
Trust me when I tell you this. It is up to you. You create your
circumstance. You can change them at any time. Why not right now?
ACTION POINT: Whatever you believe that is not working in your favor,
STOP. Right this minute make up your mind that you will BELIEVE in
yourself. Whenever you find yourself saying “I Can’t” STOP and say, “Oh,
yes I can.
Have faith in yourself. Remember, according to your faith, it will be
for you.
